St Peter's Bushey Heath

We will be performing a concert on Saturday 24th January 2009 at 7.30pm in St Peter's Church Bushey Heath, in celebration of the lives of four great composers - Henry Purcell (1659 to 1695), Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 to 1809), George Frederick Handel (1685 to 1759) and Felix Mendelssohn (1809 to 1847)

The programme will include 4 Coronation Anthems, composed by Handel for the coronation of George 2nd in 1727 and Haydn's Te Deum, composed for Empress Marie Therese (wife of Franz 1 of Austria). We will also perform Purcell's Funeral Sentences that he wrote for the funeral of Queen Mary in 1695, shortly before his own death at the age of just 36, and Mendelssohn's Verleih Uns Frieden (edited by John Rutter).
