Events - Away Day - Summer 2009

Approximately every 2 years we throw caution to the wind and abandon our native Harrow for a few hours to enable us to travel together and sing in a different venue somewhere in the UK. It provides an opportunity for us to spend time together away from our often-busy rehearsal schedule and to have a relaxing day out - including lunch along the way. Although the concert on the day is taken very seriously, we usually perform a programme which is well known to us - this year it is a re-run of the Summer Concert of the week before - thereby minimising the pressure and maximising the enjoyment. Hopefully the audience enjoy it too!

This year we are visiting Faversham for lunch and some local history before moving on to Whitstable where we are delighted to be hosted by St Alphege Church for our rehearsal and evening performance. We are very grateful indeed to the Team Vicar, wardens and staff for their kind hospitality and for accommodating us in spite of our programme being secular this year.

We hope very much to attract a local audience in addition to our own loyal band of travelling supporters
