Harrow Choral Society ends its 2025 season with a return visit to Cheltenham
Harrow Choral Society is heading west for a weekend in Cheltenham to perform a selection of this season’s repertoire.
On 13th July the choir will sing in St Andrew’s United Reformed Church, Montpelier Street, GL50 1SF, in a concert starting at 4.30 pm. The choir is familiar with St Andrew’s church, having sung there in 2018 under their previous Music Director, Simon Williams. Simon has since re-located to Cheltenham and it was at his suggestion that the choir approached Cheltenham Ladies’ College for their kind support with accommodation and a rehearsal space.
The programme will be conducted by Music Director Sam Evans, and will feature highlights from the season’s concerts in Harrow. These will include John Rutter’s Birthday Madrigals, a jazz-inspired setting of sixteenth century lyrics, recently performed at their Summer Concert at St Alban’s Church, North Harrow, Rheinberger’s moving Stabat Mater which the choir sang at Easter and a selection of songs and anthems from their Autumn Concert.
Admission to the concert is free but as previously, the retiring collection will be donated to the church’s tower appeal.
