Description: | ![]() Harrow Choral Society’s Autumn Concert features an exciting work by composer Joanna Forbes L’Estrange which, while completely new, is bound to strike a familiar note with audiences. A Season to Sing is a choral re-imagining of Vivaldi’s enduring masterpiece, The Four Seasons, and is being premiered this year by choirs across this country and around the world. Joanna Forbes L’Estrange was inspired to arrange The Four Seasons for choirs to coincide with the 300th anniversary of its original publication. In one wordless section she also pays homage to Ward Swingle, founder of the famous Swingle Singers. This promises to be a stimulating experience for performers and audience alike and opens a new perspective on this familiar and well-loved work. The concert will begin with selected choruses from Handel’s O Praise the Lord with One Consent, offering a graceful and resonant opening to the program. |
